What can be said about “the most successful team in recent Country Day history,” according to Senior Jackson Mondy? After placing fifth at nationals in June, the clay targeting team has continued their streak of success and looks to carry it on through the rest of the fall season. Led by team captain Owen Haas, known globally as the sharpest shooter east of the Mississippi, the Hornets have finished third overall in their past three competitions. Haas finished first overall at two of three outings and is looking like prime Michael Jordan with the shotty in his hands. Other notable performances include Miles Carson, ninth overall, and Anna Loren Dekle, third overall for females. And don’t worry, the future is in good hands because, at a recent qualifier, our middle school shootas finished first out of all middle school squads. The Hornets aren’t pulling any punches this year, and in the words of sophomore Linwood “Woods” Lovett, “the comp better watch out, cause we locked in for real.”
