Hooker’s Army has had an incredible season and is still going strong. With a record of 12-2, the girl’s soccer team has battled through the season and clinched a spot in the Elite Eight in the state playoffs. They took down major rivals Calvary, 6-2, and SVA, 1-0, earlier in the season to secure the region championship for the first time in five years. Led by Head Coach David Hooker and seniors Ella Stone and AC Davis, it seems that the team has a promising chance of making it far in the playoffs. When head coach David Hooker was asked to describe the season, his remarks were as follows: “I think we have a very strong team and move the ball exceptionally well. Our captains AC, Ella, and Harris provide great leadership for the young team consisting of only six upperclassmen. In our second-round playoff game against Morgan County, the first half was the best soccer we have played all season because of our spacing, movement to the ball, and first touch. We are extremely excited to see what is to come for SCDS Women’s soccer. We can’t wait to see how the season plays out, and see how far Hooker’s Army will go. Go Hornets!
