Participating in wrestling requires a combination of physical strength, agility, and mental acuity. Wrestlers undergo rigorous training regimens to build strength, enhance flexibility, and perfect their grappling techniques. The sport demands endurance, as matches are intense and physically demanding. Roman Barboa, a junior and varsity wrestler says, “consistency in your training is key”.  He goes on to explain how he practices leading up to meets and his mindset is very important to help him succeed. However, this training goes beyond the mats, meaning wrestlers also must stay disciplined with their weights to be eligible to compete in their weight class. Wrestling creates community among its participants. Wrestlers often form tight-knit teams, supporting and pushing each other to reach their full potential. The respect within wrestling extends beyond the competition, creating bonds among athletes.
