The Lady Hornets volleyball team has absolutely stung their competition so far, with an exquisite region record of 6-2. The team consists of a powerful 12 women front who have all put in blood, sweat, and tears to make the team successful while also attending a whopping two weight room sessions per week (sometimes). It is crucial to give a huge shout out to the team’s seniors, Mason Howington, Fiona Wilson, and Alli Buckler, who played their hearts out on senior night (y’all would know if y’all came). They led the team in two dubs against John Paul II, and Effingham County, both teams the Hornets had lost to earlier in the season, adding a cherry onto an already celebratory night. The Hornets next move is to SWARM the state playoffs and secure the ring while also maintaining that mamba mentality during practices, even if they are at 6:30 in the morning and AyostealyomanAjayi is cranky. When captain Fiona Wilson was asked about her and the team’s mindset going into the playoffs, she replied, “we’re going to play every point like it’s the last one, since it very well could be for some of us.” The volleyball team would like to give a big shout out to all the supporters who came out to watch and cheer on the team, you are deeply appreciated.
