The Hornets finished a strong regular season with an 18-5 overall record and a 15-1 region record. After going undefeated against in-town rivals Calvary after winter break, the Hornets go into the region tournament next weekend as the top seed on the girl’s side. The ladies are looking to return to their recent success in the region tournament after a disappointing performance last season. The team will face Liberty County in the semifinals on Friday at Johnson, and senior Stella Oelschig will look to reach the 1000 point milestone during the game. Much of the success the Hornets have had this season can be attributed to strong team performances throughout the year. A strong team culture and consistent group effort have been key to staying on top of the region. The Hornets will look to cement their spot in the state tournament this weekend at Johnson.
