Campus Life

As the end of the year is approaching, the days are getting hotter and the attendance of seniors is plummeting. During this beautiful warm spring, loads of things have been happening on the Country Day campus.

Prom: was on April 6, where our juniors and seniors dressed their best and enjoyed a night in Old Hollywood dancing to Pitbull and Sexyy Red. Most of the boys could be found by the pool and roulette tables. The beautiful sunset that looked as if it was being painted in watercolor

for our viewing pleasure brought everything together for a perfect prom night.

Fine arts night:  featuring concerts given by the jazz band, orchestra, and chorus displayed a wide range of musical talent alongside the visual arts displayed along campus allowing the students, faculty, and parents to be reminded of the artistic talent that thrives on our campus. The jazz band also performed for the upper school during advisory, brightening everyone’s days with the joy of music.

The Cultural Festival: on April 13, allowed students to experience the food and culture of many different countries. There was Henna, music, stamps, food, and flags of all variations. The cultural festival is a great time to learn about the culturally rich community of our school and better understand the cultures we don’t even know we are surrounded by.

Spring sports: Our soccer, lacrosse, and baseball teams are wrapping up their successful seasons and entering the playoffs. The new baseball field, T Brown Field, was opened and has been a great addition to our athletics. Our boys and girls soccer teams won region championships this year. Our boys and girls tennis teams also secured a region championship and are doing very well in State Playoffs thus far. Our girls golf team won the city championship for the second year in a row, and are advancing to regionals along with the boys who placed second in the city. Make sure to go support our Hornets as their season’s come to an end.

Amanuensis: The Amanuensis release party took place on April 30. Students and faculty enjoyed cake, lemonade, and music in celebration of the 2024 Amanuensis. The Amanuensis is an art magazine created by an editing team every year featuring works of literature and visual art by our students.
