Theatre Update: Bright Star

Theatre+Update%3A+Bright+Star

On February 22nd, Bright Star, this year’s musical will open for the weekend. We have been hard at work perfecting every part of our show and cannot wait to show it to audiences. The story follows literary writer, Alice Murphy (Madison Deloach), who is sparked by a young writer working for her, Billy Cane (Ben Templeton), to take a look back on her past and search for the truth of unanswered questions of her life. Way back in the day, when Alice was a teenager, she had a kid with Jimmy Ray (Silas Johnson), in doing so the pair started quarrels among their families and the parents agreed to send the baby to a new family far away. So as Alice traces back her steps to the past, she is met with the truth of what happened in her 30 years of life.

For the past 3 months, we have been curating this show to be the best it possibly can be. Our choreographer, Ms. Myers has made beautiful dances to go with the beautiful singing that has been worked on by Mr. Scaife. And of course, our wonderful director, Mr. Venhaus, has put so much time, effort, and thought into every working part of the show. Our lead girl, Madison Deloach has been working around the clock to tweak and perfect her character, and boy is it working! You will not want to miss this show, and you won’t have to because we are performing it three times! Show dates are February 22nd, and 23rd at 7 pm, and the 24th at 3 pm. We hHope to see you there!
