The trending game, Fortnite, is taking over the younger generation by storm (pun intended). This battle royale game was launched in 2017 and is still seeing steady popularity four years later. In Fortnite, players can play solo or team up with friends or randoms. The objective is to survive in a small world-like environment as the playing field decreases. To win, you have to be the last man standing and crank 90’s like a pro. There is little to no violence as the game contains solely cartoon characters.

Fortnite is so popular for many reasons. Firstly, the game is free and available to play on countless general devices like Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. It’s easily accessible and the games can be quick because there are eight-year-old sweats and it is easy to keep playing rather than waiting a long time to load into a new game. Fortnite is also always adapting and changing through updates so it attracts new people and keeps existing players. In addition, the game’s currency is v-bucks, allowing players to buy them for cheap to unlock stylish characters like the skin below and unique dances like the dab. Fortnite even collaborates with popular superstars and role models like Lil Nas X and Ariana Grande. In conclusion, Fortnite is a very good game as proven by its popularity and unbeaten creativity.

As stated by sophomore Vice President John Avino, “Fortnite has had a really large impact on my life and allowed me to form many friendships!”
