The Savannah Country Day Baseball team went 12-14 in the regular season. The absence of seniors on this year’s team has led to underclassmen stepping up and filling in huge roles. One such underclassmen is Sophomore Tyler Scott (25). Tyler while pitching a few games in the rotation in his freshman year he has elevated his game to the next level becoming the team’s ace. Tyler has posted a 3.00 ERA and has started multiple games on the mound including a 7 inning shutout against Peach County. Dalton Brown is another pitcher that gives hitters nightmares. The 6 ‘7 southpaw recently committed to the University of Lafayette College, in Easton Pennsylvania. Sophomore pitcher, Brooks Kleinpeter (25) hasn’t slowed down from his rookie of the year campaign from last year posting a 3.73 ERA and a 300. Batting average. Other pitchers that round out the rotation are Lieiden Vanabshoven, Jackson Sammons, and Even Sedory.   The Hornets Baseball team secured their ticket to the playoffs by sweeping Liberty County 10-0 and 9-1 obtaining the 4th seed in region 3AAA. The team will head Morgan County on the 24th for a best of 3 series in the first round of the GHSA playoffs.
