This issue’s female athlete is an unstoppable force and a key player for the varsity women’s soccer team. Gracie Daters is a central defender and when asked why that is her favorite position, she replied, “I love being able to see all of the field at once and getting into tackles for the ball.” Gracie wins every tackle she gets into, always coming out of it with the ball. She has played soccer at Country Day since 6th grade and played club soccer at Savannah United since 4th grade. Gracie said she is most excited to continue winning state playoff games and traveling with her team for the remainder of their season. Her advice to younger female athletes is to try your hardest and believe in yourself, but more importantly, have fun and get to know your teammates. The SCDS women’s soccer team will greatly miss Gracie and her enthusiasm on and off the field. In response to the question regarding what she will miss the most about high school soccer, Gracie replied, “I am not ready to say goodbye to all of my teammates that have become my best friends, we have become a family and the environment is unmatched.”
