Fiona Wilson is the “it” girl for the Country Day Lady Hornets this year. The team tries to bring out “Fiesty Fi” every game because we know she will never fail to make a huge impact on the team’s energy. After coming off of a strong dub against the Lady Cavs this Tuesday, Fiona claims it is her favorite memory from the 22-23 season, thus far. Fiona is a guard with a natural ability to surprise her opponents with some clutch shots, perfect passes, and of course that feisty defense. When asked what advice she would give to younger female athletes, Fiona replied with not one but two amazing lessons. The first is to “work hard for what you are passionate about, but also recognize when you need time to rest.” The second is “be kind and patient to yourself and others because you never know others’ stories.” As a Senior athlete, Fiona is always there when her teammates need confidence or a laugh during games or practice, and embodies the leadership abilities of our team. Fiona hopes that the rest of the girl’s basketball season includes another region championship and a good run in the state playoffs.
