After three great nights of the Diviners in October and yet another performance a few weeks ago, Middle School took the stage, performing Newsies Jr.

The musical, a true story following the leaders of the Newsboy Strike of 1899, was directed by Ms. Walchuck. She was helped out by Dr. Joiner, who directed the music of the production and conducted the pit orchestra (while playing the piano!). Not only that, but a number of our fellow Upper School students also made up the crew, pit orchestra, and helped out in a variety of other ways. Many cast and crew members got sick in the days leading up to opening night, having to work twice as hard to pull everything together; in the end, however, the show was beyond great. There was a great turn out every night from parents, students of all grades, teachers and more.

Now the Upper School is preparing to take the stage again, as they perform Fiddler on the Roof, the story of Tevye the dairyman and his daughters in Imperial Russia during the 1950s. Auditions happened just before Thanksgiving break, as the cast will prepare to put on the show in February. From there, yet another incredible show will be put on in the spring.
