The new iPhone 14 came out on September 16, 2022. This new model improved on its previous model by upgrading the camera technology improvements, display capabilities, A16 chip, and more. In addition to this, a new feature that stands out about this iPhone is the floating island that wraps itself around the selfie camera and can morph itself to provide more useful information. It can show off everything from whatever song is playing on your music service to the battery level of your AirPods. It shows how much time is left on timers without opening the app and shows you when your personal hotspot is in use. It also shows you when you receive incoming calls as a small bubble within an Island rather than taking over the entire phone screen.
Apple says Dynamic Island is meant to blend the line between hardware and software. For taking videos there’s an Action Mode that provides a smooth video display with better image stabilization. Action Mode is able to adjust to significant movement and vibrations, even when the video is captured in the middle of the action.
For safety, Apple also added Emergency SOS via satellite: an option that allows the iPhone 14 to connect to satellites for communication purposes in emergency situations when WiFi and cellular are not available. Furthermore, Battery life has been improved with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max as it lasts an entire hour longer than the iPhone 13 Pro models. The iPhone 14 Pro models come in dark purple, silver, gold, and black.
