The Lady Hornets have had a great start to their 2022 soccer season. The girl’s varsity team started their season with three outstanding wins over St. Andrews, New Hampstead, and Windsor Forest. Beating St. Andrews 2-1, New Hampstead 9-0, and Windsor forest 10-0, the girls continue to advance inside and outside region play. This year the Lady Hornets are guided by head coach David Hooker, and assistant coach Candice English. Senior captain Amina Okumu is helping lead the team to many victories this season. Amina has played a vital part in this year’s season because, alongside her sister, Freshman Sophia Okumu, the two have and will continue to be an unstoppable pair as the team finishes off the season. The Lady Hornets stung their most recent competition, the Savannah Christian Raiders, in an amazing shutout win with a final score of 7-0. The team has only a week left before the 2022 soccer season begins region and state playoffs, so wish them luck.
