Claudia Birthisel is an outstanding tennis player and contributes in so many ways to Country Day’s tennis team. Her competitive spirit is always present and when asked what she is most excited for this season she says, “I am most excited about playing SCPS for region because we came in second for this year’s cross country season and last year’s tennis season, while they came in first. So I really want to beat them this year!” 

Claudia prefers to play singles over doubles because she likes to have full control of the court when playing matches. Claudia has an amazing “next point” mentality and her advice to younger girls is, “when you make a mistake, move on and focus on winning. Move like a squirrel and your opponent will go nuts!!!!!” 

The Hornet tennis team is a force to be reckoned with this year. They are an experienced team with lots of dedication. We cannot wait to see what Claudia and the team accomplish!
