Grace Wilson is one of Savannah Country Day’s top athletes. Grace plays basketball and soccer and is by far the most aggressive out on the court/field. Early into the basketball season, Grace ended a practice with bloody knuckles due to a brawl against a junior, Fiona Wilson.

While also having the most team spirit, Grace is a great person to be on a team with. Grace’s favorite position is point guard, and when asked what she is most excited about for this season she says, “I am excited to finish out my final season with my two senior teammates, Abby and Catherine, that I’ve played with since 5th grade.”

Grace is a lockdown defender who can transition into a casual sharp shooter on offense. Her advice to younger female athletes is, “Sports are what you make them. The best way to excel is to have fun and be confident in yourself. Achieving these will make you an all around player who others want to share the court/field with.” Grace is a perfect representation of SCDS female athletes with her dedication, sportsmanship, and athleticism.

Grace’s hope for the future of the girl’s basketball 2021-2022 season is to defend the title and win the region championship again. She says, “We have a really well rounded team. I feel like we have room to grow and by the end of the season we will be ready for the region championship.”
